Understanding Infection Control Risk Assessment
ICRA is a systematic process that evaluates potential infection control hazards within a healthcare setting. It helps identify vulnerabilities and develops strategies to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
1 Identification
Identifying potential infection sources, such as contaminated surfaces or equipment.
2 Assessment
Evaluating the likelihood and severity of infection transmission from identified sources.
3 Mitigation
Developing and implementing strategies to minimize or eliminate infection risks.
4 Monitoring
Regularly evaluating the effectiveness of mitigation measures and making adjustments as needed.
